MILWAUKEE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 28, 2013-- Artisan Partners Asset Management Inc. (NYSE: APAM) (the “Company”) announced today the commencement of an underwritten public offering of 4,800,000 shares of its Class A common stock. The Company will grant the underwriters a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional 720,000 shares.

The Company intends to use all of the net proceeds of this offering to purchase shares of the Company’s convertible preferred stock and preferred units of the Company’s subsidiary, Artisan Partners Holdings LP, from private equity funds controlled by Hellman & Friedman LLC.

Citigroup and Goldman, Sachs & Co. are acting as joint bookrunners for the offering. BofA Merrill Lynch; Keefe, Bruyette & Woods; Sandler O’Neill + Partners, L.P. and William Blair are acting as co-managers for the offering. The offering will be made pursuant to the Company’s registration statement on Form S-1, as amended, which has been filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission, but has not yet become effective.
